In Illinois a non custodial parent is to pay child support to a custodial parent. The many questions and issues that arise from this simple premise can not be answered completely with any website. To every parent who feels the Illinois judicial system fails them, well you are correct. There are no easy answers and any attorney who tells you that your dilemma is simple to resolve is probably the same attorney that can draft your will, have the DUI dismissed for your brother, process your parent's social security claim, and file the patent for your uncle's latest invention all before noon.
Many areas of law are very technical with multiple steps and child support is one of them. The focus of my office is the practice of child support, ranging from having the circuit clerk's fee waived when filing a paternity case to collecting past due support owed from the auction of property.
